Yes, the fun element can be a tactic but I’d have problems in visualising it as a strategy. Fun could be cool but it could also just be a fad, that wanes quickly in the short attention span world of today.

Providing something that is actually useful is more compelling….

This is an important database which is useful this year, next year and the year after that.

Of course, we’ll have to keep building new features to keep users engaged.
