VentunoTech - Indian video ad network
Video advertising is certainly the next frontier for internet advertising. After the humongous success and the grand acquisition of YouTube, internet video has became the talk of the town. Traditional TV media has always scored over internet advertising because of richness of expression. Video advertising on internet can bridge that gap.
India is also gaining momentum in the video space with initiatives like Rediff ishare, loads of Youtube clones and media houses like Rajshri production making their movies available online. VentunoTech is a new player in the video advertising platform. They are the same team as the one behind IndiaInteracts (reviewed earlier), which is a media portal (news, videos, blogs, articles etc.) with a combination of editorial content as well as UGC.
VentunoTech brings together media publishers, content owners and advertisers for monetizing video content. Site owners can embed ads into their own content, or use content provided by VentunoTech. They currently have content from their own site, IndiaInteracts, as well as couple of channels like Zoom TV. I could not test their service, as the sign up requires a review from their Sales team. Check out their demo section, which has examples of video ads as preroll & postroll, or as an image overlay.
I am not very sure how many people watch videos (except porn of course) online in India. Nautanki.TV claim on their site that it reaches nearly a million people every day (sounds a lot, right?). Because whatever we call broadband here is actually an abuse of the word. I’ve a “broad”band VSNL connection at home that gives me a rocking download speed of 5 KBPS! May be the situation will change very quickly with rollout of WiMax…
What do you think? Do you have any concrete numbers? Do you watch a lot of online video content? Would you be patient enough to watch an Ad in between (or in the beginning), and not close your browser?

i dunno how gud VentunoTech will do (best of luck to those guys) but claims of how many people watching videos online as of now….i still doubt the critical mass advertisers are searching for..though with better speeds..its gonna increase for sure…
as for the 1 million hits claim of nautanki.tv … it surely goes over my head and guess wut…alexa agrees with me on that

Actually, I am not even sure how much we can trust Alexa rankings…
I dont know many people around who use Alexa toolbar…it would mostly be used by young techies who like to experiment…so it’s very likely that sites like icicibank.com would get a lower than actual ranking, whereas youtube.com or wordpress.com would get higher than actual ranking…Every non techie around me has used icicibank.com, but almost none of them know what wordpress is…

I do watch videos online, but very few of them are ‘Indian’ by origin. They’ll have trouble finding enough content without copyright issues to be honest. And you’re right, broadband is terrible here. Only those with the unlimited data transfer plans will be able to view videos regularly.

This nautanki.tv is so STUPID~~~i hav an inside scoop on this this firm~~~the story is my friend runs a internet consulting firm and he recruited a girl for nautanki.tv…apparently the girl was pregnant
and the guys of nautanki.tv knew that she was pregnant. Till 3 months they made the girl work~~~every thing was going perfectly fine…but when it came to pay my friend
(who actually recruited her) they said that we are firing that girl since she is very inefficient(when she actually wasnt). They didnt pay my friend a single penny. Such a thing is totally unacceptable.
So the owners of nautanki.tv if you cant pay your bills better close down the company ~~~and bloggers better stick too GOOGLE ADSENSE~~~this company wont pay you a single penny.
