Burrp launches online TV guide… sticky addition to its social hangout offerings

by Amit Ranjan on April 14, 2008

Burrp has lauched an online TV guide that brings internet style interactivity to the task of keeping abreast of your favorite TV programs. The guide is an easy way to track what’s playing on TV, set reminders, manage schedules etc. It provides a comprehensive view of what’s playing across TV channels along with show timings, channel details etc; set SMS alerts to act as reminders before shows or movie etc. Screenshots below.

The TV guide is a useful addition to the core service the website offers (restaurant reviews, entertainment hotspots etc) and should help increase its stickiness amongst users. For users this is one more reason to visit Burrp.

Burrp is currently doing about a million pageviews every month. They are covering 8 cities- Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Hyderabad. And the highest traffic generating cities are Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and Chennai in that order.

Nice work. The site was quite convenient to use and had all the relevant information that a person would be looking for.
I really liked it a lot.

Hey Chand, found 3 other sites that have a TV listings service. There’s Indiatimes with limited channels thats never accurate. Then theres http://www.zipazap.com which i frequent and there’s something in the South which i had visited but cant recollect the name for.
