Major Amazon Web Services outage: SlideShare is affected as well…

Amazon Web Services is having a major outage since the last couple of hours. The outage has affected a bunch of services. Simple DB, S3, SQS - all are down. Check out the latest status on the Amazon Web Services dashboard. Screenshot below.

A bunch of services are having problems - Twitter, Scribd, Smugmug. SlideShare is affected as well. Our website is up but crucial parts dependent on Amazon are broken - new files cannot be uploaded, slideshows cannot be viewed on the site, blog embeds will not show up as well etc… Hope they kill the problem soon. If you are a SlideShare user, please bear with this.
