Thirst wins the World’s Best Presentation Contest on SlideShare

by Amit Ranjan on Sep 4, 2008

I can’t but share the results of the 2008 edition of the World’s Best Presentation Contest that just got over on SlideShare yesterday. Here are the winners ….

First Place:

THIRST by Jeff Brenman, a beautiful presentation on the impending water shortage across the world was unanimously chosen by the judges as the best presentation in the contest.

Second Place:

Close on Jeff’s heels (pun intended) was Melanie Kahl with her innovative photo slideshow Footnotes. A travelogue of sorts, her slides took us on a “bipedal adventure with pictures”

Third Place:

In third place, Dan Hrstich’s presentation, Zimbabwe in Crisis created for a junior school class was popular for the clear way in which the problems in Zimbabwe were outlined.

Check out the full list of winners including the category winners and honorable mentions at this page: http://www.slideshare.net/contest/results-2008

The judges for the contest were presentation experts - Guy Kawasaki, Garr Reynolds (Presentation Zen), Nancy Duarte (from Duarte, which designed Al-Gore’s Nobel Prize award winning documnetary on global warming) & Bert Decker.

Watching these slide decks does give you (rather me) an acute sense of inferiority complex… now with SlideShare, off course my slides look far better…. God I remember the decks I used to make 5-6 years back while I was in my job… they sucked BIG time.
